মে ১৯৪৮ থেকে ফেব্রুয়ারি ১৯৪৯। ফিলিস্তিনে দশ মাসের গোপন এক মিশন চালায় ইসরাইল। যুদ্ধের বিভীষিকায় ফিলিস্তিনীরা ঘর ছেড়ে আশ্রয় নিয়েছেন রিফিউজি ক্যাম্পে। বেশিরভাগ ঘর-বাড়ি শূন্য পড়ে আছে। ইহুদিদের মাথায় দুষ্টু এক বুদ্ধি এলো। বিশেষ একটি টিম গঠন করে ফিলিস্তিনীদের ঘরে থাকা বইগুলো চুরি করলো। বিশেষভাবে বাছাইকৃত হাজার হাজার বই।
